📌 What Is a Stainless Steel Safety Valve?
Stainless steel safety valves are automatic safety elements that prevent the system pressure from exceeding safe limits in pressure vessels, boilers, tanks and piping systems.
The spring mechanism inside allows the valve to open when the preset pressure value is reached, discharging the excess pressure from the system.
When the pressure drops back to a safe level, the valve closes automatically and the system continues its normal operation.
Thanks to the lifting lever (test lever) on it, the functionality of the valve can be manually tested periodically.
⭐ Key Advantages
- ✅ Automatic Protection: Activates without intervention when the set pressure is exceeded
- ✅ Manual Test Lever: Allows manual testing for periodic inspections
- ✅ High Durability: Long service life in corrosive environments with stainless steel body
- ✅ Precise Adjustment: Can be calibrated to different opening pressure values
- ✅ Wide Compatibility: Suitable for steam, air, gas and liquid fluids
🔧 Technical Comparison: Stainless Steel vs. Brass/Cast Iron Safety Valve
| Criteria | Stainless Steel Safety Valve | Brass/Cast Iron Valve |
|---|---|---|
| Corrosion Resistance | Very high (suitable for acidic environments) | Limited (oxidation risk) |
| Hygienic Use | Suitable for food and pharmaceutical industries | Not suitable for hygienic processes |
| Temperature Resistance | Stable at high temperatures | Deformation risk at high temperatures |
| Service Life | Long (lifetime with maintenance) | Medium (shortens depending on environment) |
🏭 Material Grades and Options
AISI 304 / 304L
Standard stainless steel grade for steam, air and water lines and general industrial applications.
AISI 316 / 316L
Superior corrosion-resistant grade for chemical, chloride-containing and aggressive fluids.
Sealing Element
Metal-to-metal seating surface or PTFE, EPDM, FKM soft seat options according to the fluid.
